"The Man from Snowy River may well be a myth, but the spirit of Banjo Patterson's legend lives on in the Cochran family."

Cochran Horse Treks operate horse treks across the beautiful Snowy Mountains of Australia from homesteads at Yaouk on the east and Khancoban on the west. We offer the greatest variety of horseback adventures in Australia.

Over 160 years the Cochran family have gathered the necessary breeding in horses to offer an outstanding quality of trekking horse.

Our staff are our family and make our riders feel warm and welcome without the sense of pretense or commercialism, offering a genuine Australian outback experience.

Our priorities at all times are safety, comfort, and good humour so come along for a memorable experience and enjoy the ride of your life! Cochran Horse Treks are NSW National Parks and Wildlife accredited Eco Pass holders authorised to conduct horseback tours of Snowy Mountains Kosciusko National Park. Lic:10/687

Winter Update 2015

After a mild start to the winter, the Snowies have really turned it on, the resorts have received some great snowfalls and now we're getting lovely sunny days, very cold nights and big morning frosts. Our wonderful horses have been enjoying their off-season break and the rugging program has continued this winter with most of them wearing brand new or repaired rugs. All the horses were brought in last week for some maintenance (hooftrims, grooming & drenching and mineral supplement) and the majority of them are in superb condition. With all the good winter moisture we've received, we're looking forward to a fantastic spring season (only a few weeks away now) with a good number of advance bookings already received. We advise the following treks are already booked out and now closed for further bookings (2nd November - 5 day trek; 8th November - 5 day trek; 25th March Corryong Festival Trek also nearly full) As we're taking limited bookings in the early part of the season, several other scheduled treks are coming close to closing, so if you're thinking of joining us for a fantastic Snowy Mountains horseback experience, please book early to avoid disappointment! Can't wait to see you in the Spring!!!

Season Commencement 2014

Only a short time now till we're back in the saddle again for the new season! Just wanted to welcome our guests, we're looking forward to seeing you soon. Please let us know your plans! (ie; arriving evening prior to ride start and booking into the Snowgoose Adaminaby) When booking in (Ph: 0264542202)- please let them know you're also our guest to receive a discount rate for B&B. The Snowy Region experienced moderate/good snowfalls, cold temps and good rain during winter. Early spring showers have started some good green growth & the Snowies are looking great. Most of the horses have wintered very well and are in great order, albeit with some winter hair still to shed! We're looking forward to a good wildflower season in the National Park, with November thru till January generally the best time for flower lovers! Look forward to seeing you all soon!!!
