(Sorry this awesome ride is now fully booked for 2015) This is our Premier event of the season - The fantastic 'Corryong Man from Snowy River Festival Ride' - an amazing trekking experience with our wonderful team of horses from Yaouk to Khancoban over 7 days, culminating with the Corryong Man from Snowy River Festival featuring Australia's best horses and riders on exhibition, bush poetry, rodeo, music, entertainment etc etc. This epic trek includes the most wonderful scenery and views that our spectacular Snowy Mountains are famous for, crystal clear streams & mountain huts and culminates with 3 days at the Festival. Accommodation options during festival weekend are A) Camping 2/3 nights at the Festival at Cochran's campsite as our guest or B) for very reasonable rate stay in Khancoban and transfer daily to nearby Festival) Please note ride cost does not include Festival entry or meal costs after ride conclusion on Thursday 3rd April. This is a 'Once in a Lifetime ride' 19 April 2015….COMMEMORATE THE CENTENARY OF GALLIPOLI, ride 200Km across the Snowy Mountains from West to East in 10 days commencing at legendary Tom Groggin Station on the Murray River and finishing at the Cochran Homestead at Yaouk on the Murrumbidgee River. Commemorate the anniversary of the first Anzac Day on 25 April at Bradleys Hut with a dawn service , gunfire breakfast and two up in the mountains. Riders will leave Tom Groggin and travel along the National Bi-Centennial Trail on Boardmans run , camp at Geehi, then next day past the historic Major Clews hut to Khancoban and then relax that evening staying at the Alpine Inn's motel and enjoy a quiet ale or two at the Inn. On day three the climb begins to camp at Yellow Bog (akaYella Boy) then next day through stunning mountain scenery to Jagumba on the Tooma River where even the most amateur fisherman can catch a fish. This is an outstanding camp looking straight up at Mount Jagumba 4000 feet above. Pristine private campsite with sparkling warm waters of the Tooma River to splash in or have a fish. (Anglers BYO fishing gear). Another opportunity presents to visit the charming historic Tooma Inn for a meal and drinks. Day six takes us further into the mountains and onto the high plains where Brumbies roam freely and the breeze will call for an extra layer. Exquisite high country scenery - Camp is at Bradleys/ O’Briens Hut (approx 1750mtrs elevation) Day seven provides for a “lay day” and Anzac day Celebrations in the traditional way with a dawn service and gunfire breakfast followed by lunch and two up. Day eight takes us on a long day across the spectacular high plains and Happy Jacks River to Providence Portal on the banks of Lake Eucumbene. Our final two days provide outstanding scenery en route from Lake Eucumbene over Tantangara Mountain to Wares Yards and finally on day 10 to Yaouk Homestead where riders will be bussed to Adaminaby and their chosen overnight accommodation and dinner at the Snow Goose Hotel. This is an opportunity where history , heritage and adventure have combined to provide a 'once in a lifetime' experience that will make the history books and attract media attention. Visit historic mountain huts, see the beautiful wild brumbies in their Snowy Mountain habitat, new season brumby foals - overnight warm and comfortable camping in your swag & tent at a remote bush camp in gorgeous Kosciusko! A perfect getaway & soul renewer! Should be a lovely time of year to ride, days starting to get nice and warm and cool crisp evenings!
